Daniel Jones has to be a happy man after this offseason
With all of the weapons that the New York Giants added on offense this offseason it’s safe to say that quarterback Daniel Jones will have plenty of people to throw the football to in 2021.
Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report has written a piece listing the winners and losers from the current NFL offseason. When it comes to the Giants, he listed Jones as being a winner with all of the weapons they added. Below is a portion of what he wrote:
…With a stacked pass-catching group, Jones has a bevy of offensive playmakers around him. Though the Giants may limit dual-threat running back Saquon Barkley’s snaps early in the upcoming season, Big Blue’s perimeter weapons could spread a defense thin on the back end.
The Giants signed Kenny Golladay, who joins Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton and rookie first-rounder Kadarius Toney in the wide receiver unit. Don’t forget Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram, who has 216 receptions for 2,420 yards and 13 touchdowns in four seasons.
At 6’4″, 213 pounds, Golladay will likely become the go-to receiver. He eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in two seasons and led the league in touchdown receptions (11) for the 2019 campaign…
I really have a feeling that the addition of a guy like Golladay is going to give Jones the confidence he needs to be a great passer and to stop turning the football over.
The fact of the matter is that with all of the weapons that New York now have, there should be someone open on every play. There is also pressure now on offensive coordinator Jason Garrett to make sure that this offense produces because if it doesn’t he may not make it through the season.
