Is MJD right about the NY Giants?
Even though the New York Giants finished last season with a 6-10 record, they were a Philadelphia Eagles win over the Washington Football Team away from winning the NFC East. Of course Washington defeated the Eagles in week 17 and they earned a trip to the postseason as well as the NFC East title.
If the Giants are going to win the division this coming season they will need to play a lot better or hope that the teams around them once again are pitiful because that’s what gave them a chance last year.
One thing Big Blue have going for them is all of the talent that they added to their roster this offseason.
Former NFL running back and current NFL Network analyst Maurice Jones-Drew believes that New York can win the NFC East, but of course it will depend on how quarterback Daniel Jones plays.
“Can they beat the Cowboys? Oh yeah! Can they beat Washington? Oh yeah! But it all relies on No. 8,” Jones-Drew said.
“Can he not turn the ball over? Can he put us in situations to be successful? Can he change the play at the line of scrimmage like the really good quarterbacks in this league do? Can he do all those things for us at a high level, consistently? That’s going to be the key.”
MJD mentioned something that not many people have been talking about and that is that the Giants played very well at the end of last season.
“The team got much better at the end of the year. Joe Judge did a phenomenal job,” Jones-Drew said. “Can they keep going and can they play consistently like they did at the end of the year? That’s going to be the key for the New York Football Giants.”
