Who on this list will make the NY Giants’ roster?
The New York Giants will kick off training camp for the 2021 NFL Season in about a month. There are of course many players on their current 90-man roster that will not make the final cut.
I’ve compiled a list of four players that are long shots to make the Giants’ final 53-man roster.
WR Kelvin Benjamin
Benjamin looked really big for a wide receiver during OTA’s. When he was trying out for the Giants during their rookie minicamp it was at the tight end position. But New York’s roster now lists him as a receiver.
With Benjamin having been out of the NFL since 2018 and the fact that he’s 30 years-old, I don’t see him making the Giants’ final roster.
CB Sam Beal
Beal opted out of last season and even prior to that has never shown the Giants anything. Unless he comes out of nowhere and balls out during the preseason, I don’t see him making the cut. There are simply too many better options on New York’s roster right now.
TE Levine Toilolo
Even though the Giants re-worked Toilolo’s contract in order to keep him, the addition of Kyle Rudolph this offseason will make it very difficult for him to make the Giants’ final roster.
Toilolo will have to beat out Kaden Smith and I don’t think that will happen. Smith is a better all around player.
OLB Niko Lalos
The additions of Ryan Anderson, Azeez Ojulari and Elerson Smith along with Lorenzo Carter and Oshane Ximines coming back from injury will make it extremely difficult for Lalos to make the Giants’ roster. If he does get released he’ll likely be signed to their practice squad.
