Patrick Graham will likely draw more interest from teams
After an extremely impressive debut season as the New York Giants’ defensive coordinator in 2020, Patrick Graham had a chance to leave for a head coaching job this offseason but decided to stay.
Graham also signed an extension with Big Blue in order to stick around for the near future. It sounds like he never wants to leave.
So does this mean Graham will never leave New York? No one knows. Maybe if a dream head coaching job comes up he will leave. Dalton Miller of the Pro Football Network has listed him as a head coaching candidate for 2022.
Graham is a name to watch going forward, but he’s relatively new as one of the NFL head coach candidates in 2021. He’s still just 42 years old, and he’s going into his third season as a defensive coordinator. He’s also the assistant head coach for the Giants. The Giants defense saw significant improvements from 2019 to 2020 under Graham’s teachings.
I think whether Graham leaves the Giants or not will depend on how much he desires to become a head coach and how happy he is in the Big Apple. It certainly looks like Big Blue has something good going on with Joe Judge in charge.
