Sounds like things are going well with Kyle Rudolph’s foot
Right before the New York Giants signed tight end Kyle Rudolph they realized he needed to undergo foot surgery. Since undergoing surgery he wasn’t out on the field during Big Blue’s OTA’s last month, but it looks like he’ll be ready for week one.
“As far as football goes, I was extremely fortunate that the Giants organization and everyone involved [caught it], and how they were able to handle my situation, that I won’t miss any football,” Rudolph said, via the New York Daily News. “At this point it’s about taking each day and taking that opportunity to not only get myself healthy but get myself better. It’s one thing to get and be healthy, it’s another to be ready to go and play in an NFL game. So I’m taking that day by day.”
I would imagine that we won’t see Rudolph during the preseason due to the fact that he’s been around the NFL for the past 10 years. I think the Giants know what they have in him and it makes sense to be cautious. I also think it’s highly likely that he will participate in training camp, but on a limited basis.
The fact of the matter is that New York doesn’t need Rudolph to come in and dominate. With all of the weapons they now have, they only need him to do his job..
