Kadarius Toney already missing crucial time
The New York Giants have announced that they’ve placed rookie first round pick, wide receiver Kadarius Toney, on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The Giants’ rookies reported to training camp on Wednesday and if I had to guess I would imagine that New York had him take a COVID-19 test and the results came back positive, which is the reason for this move.
Toney is of course isolating himself from the rest of the Giants’ organization and is attending all meetings remotely. Hopefully he’ll be back on the field as soon as possible after missing all of Big Blue’s voluntary OTA’s this offseason.
With most NFL rosters under 70 percent vaccinated, there will be plenty of positive cases as long as those numbers don’t improve. The league might also force teams to forfeit this season if there are massive COVID outbreaks and a makeup date can’t be arranged.
The rest of the Giants’ roster will be reporting to camp next week on July 27th.
