NY Giants have to prove their doubters wrong
FOX Sports talking head Colin Cowherd recently gave his predictions for the upcoming NFL season and he believes the New York Giants will finish with an 8-9 record.
Now Nate Davis of USA TODAY Sports has made his predictions and also has the Giants finishing 8-9. Here’s what he wrote:
New York Giants (8-9): Aside from Barkley, few big names for The Big Apple’s bluebloods … which seems to fit coach Joe Judge’s approach just fine given the Giants nearly stole the division in Week 17 last season. But for the team to take the next step – especially if Barkley is well shy of 100% – third-year QB Daniel Jones will likely need to display substantial progress, assisted by big-ticket free agent WR Kenny Golladay and a suspect O-line. The Giants only have three home games after Nov. 7, one apiece against each of their NFC East rivals.
Well 8-9 isn’t far off from my 9-8 prediction for the Giants, so I can’t really argue that it isn’t a fair one.
I feel like New York could finish with as low as six wins again and as high as 11 wins. It’s really simple, if their offensive line and quarterback Daniel Jones play the way they need them to, they will have a great chance of winning the NFC East and making the playoffs.
I think even if the Giants miss the playoffs somehow with Jones and their offensive line playing well, it will give them some confidence heading into 2022.
