Blake Martinez added to COVID list
Just last week the New York Giants had to place rooke wide receiver Kadarius Toney on the COVID-19/reserve list.
The good news is that Toney was at the team facility on Tuesday and it looks like he’ll be activated very soon.
“Well, [Toney is] with us today in the building, so he’s back with us. We have a number of guys for different reasons that we’re actually going to take them a little bit slower,” head coach Joe Judge told reporters. “Obviously, coming off of that protocol as we learned last year with the number of players on our team throughout the season, we’re going to go and move them around the field and make sure that he’s ready to go, then we’ll start integrating with our team. We’re not going to go ahead and rush anything to get in the process.”
The bad news now is that the Giants had to place linebacker Blake Martinez and safety Josha Kalu on the COVID-19/reserve list after they were exposed to COVID.
“We had a couple guys who had some exposure to it and had to quarantine throughout this point. Some guys who had some issues this summer, I’m not going to go into specifics unless they’re on the list right there,” Judge said before the transaction was made official. “But, you know, there’s a couple guys that have come off that we’re going to go ahead and make sure that we’re doing the right thing by them in terms of the adjustments to training they had to make the last few weeks.”
