This won’t help Reggie Ragland earn a starting spot
Even though training camp just started on Tuesday, it seems like the New York Giants aren’t very healthy as a team with numerous players on the PUP list and non-football injury list to start off the season.
Then the Giants announced on Tuesday that middle linebacker Reggie Ragland has been placed on the non-football injury list with a hamstring injury.
With Ragland out along with Blake Martinez, who has been placed on the COVID-19/reserve list, second-year players like Carter Coughlin and Tae Crowder will have a chance to shine in practice. So keep an eye out for them.
Ragland was signed this offseason to compete with both Coughlin and Crowder for the starting middle linebacker spot beside Martinez. This is certainly a setback for him.
The Giants’ first preseason game is in just over two weeks from now. It will be interesting to see how long Ragland and some of his teammates are out.
