NY Giants not done looking at free agents
Even though the New York Giants just signed three players, they’ve brought in another two guys on a tryout basis.
Field Yates of ESPN reported on Sunday that the Giants brought in former Mississippi State quarterback Tommy Stevens who has transitioned to tight end.
Stevens was actually a seventh round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2020 and also spent time with the Carolina Panthers last season. He also started his college career at Penn State University before transferring to Miss. St.
Stevens stands at 6-foot-5, 237 pounds, but may have put on weight since moving to tight end.
Yates also mentioned that the Giants took a look at former San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver Andy Jones.
Jones is 27 years-old and went undrafted in 2016 out of the University of Jacksonville but ended up signing with the Dallas Cowboys. So Giants’ offensive coordinator Jason Garrett is familiar with him.
Jones only has 11 receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown during his career so far. He’s also spent time with the Houston Texans, Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins.
