Cristiano Ronaldo saved a point for Manchester United in a 1-1 Premier League tie against Chelsea on Thursday.
Ronaldo scored two minutes after Marcos Alonso had given Chelsea a merited 60th-minute lead.
“Not only the goal, but his entire performance, his mentality at the age of 37, is not normal,” stated interim United boss Rangnick.
“He can still assist this squad if he plays like he did today.
“It benefited us. Chelsea dominated the opening half. You can tell they have great players and are highly organized, but they are hard to reach “Rangnick also refused to comment on speculations tying him to the Austria national team coaching post. According to ESPN, he is in talks for the role but also plans to work as a consultant at Old Trafford.
Despite dominating much of the game, Chelsea missed numerous chances in a match between two clubs whose seasons are winding down.
“We deserved to win. We refused. It was a great performance, but we lacked conviction. We lacked focus in the box to win the game “Chelsea’s Tuchel stated.

“It happens. We must learn from it. The payoff is clinical. We’ll take a point, but it’s not fair.
“We fought so hard to get the lead, and then the opponent scores.”
The outcome had no impact on the Premier League rankings. Chelsea are six points ahead of Arsenal in fourth and eight points ahead of Tottenham. United remain third, having played two more games than the teams above them, a result that does little to revive their faint prospects of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
Chelsea dominated the first half but failed to capitalize on their dominance, with Kai Havertz leading the way. N’Golo Kante found him twice, but he missed the near post and then blasted too close to David de Gea.
Soon after, Havertz headed straight at De Gea from six yards after being set up by Reece James.
Chelsea didn’t score until the hour mark. James sent another right-wing cross, Timo Werner flicked on and Alonso adjusted his feet before volleying into the far corner.
Despite not having posed an attacking threat, United equalized in two minutes.
After the score, Kante lost the ball away in his own half, allowing Nemanja Matic to set up Ronaldo for a close-range finish.
It was Ronaldo’s first league goal against Chelsea in 12 games. It was also his 17th league goal of the season, second only to Mohamed Salah of Liverpool.
But James’ weaker justify-footed shot cannoned off the outside of the post as Chelsea hauled on former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.
