Tortillas Are Being Used by a Republican Lawmaker to Get Away From the January 6th Debate

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) offered a “corny” take on what Americans are talking about instead of the hearings on January 6th.

Biggs, who was one of several Republicans who sought a presidential pardon following the attack, said that the hearings were a distraction from manufacturers lowering package sizes to deal with inflation, according to the Jan. 6 committee.

The congressman mentioned one item in particular that is causing a stir in the United States: tortillas.

“They don’t want you talking about, ‘Hey, the size of that pack of tortillas that I just bought last week before it came out, it used to look like regular corn tortillas, now it looks like mini tortillas,” Biggs said on the same floor where US Capitol Police officers drew guns at a mob on Jan. 6, 2021.

The Recount has a video of Biggs’ statements, which you can see below.

Biggs is one of several Republicans named by the committee as having met with former President Donald Trump and been “engaged in the planning and coordination of certain events on and before” the incident on Jan. 6.

According to The Arizona Republic, far-right activist Ali Alexander, who coordinated the “Stop the Steal” campaign that rallied behind Trump’s phoney 2020 election allegations, Biggs was “vital” in pulling the operation “together.”

According to the newspaper, he and other GOP members have refused to cooperate with the committee as it attempts to piece together the events of January 6.

According to the Jan., who was one of several Republicans who sought a presidential pardon after the assault, the hearings were a distraction from manufacturers cutting package sizes to deal with inflation.

The representative specifically cited one topic that is generating a stir in the United States.
Biggs stated on the same level where US Capitol Police officers drew firearms, “Hey, the size of that pack of tortillas that I just bought last week before it came out used to look like standard corn tortillas, now it looks like small tortillas.”
