Today, the Social Security Administration is distributing the fourth batch of August payments, and there is still one more batch of August payments slated to be distributed this month.
Due to the enormous volume of mail that must be processed each month, these checks are delivered in batches every month.
There are approximately 65 million Americans who are eligible to receive Social Security benefits. The last payment for August will be distributed the following week.
As a result of the skyrocketing inflation that we’ve witnessed over the past year, it’s possible that Social Security benefits could soon experience their biggest boost in forty years. In December, you should get a letter advising you of the benefit rate that will apply to you for the next year.
On the website of the Social Security Administration, you will also find an option to access your benefits online.

How do they choose the dates for the Social Security payments?
Each month, payments are sent out by the Social Security Administration on three different Wednesdays: the second, third, and fourth Wednesday.
It is entirely dependent on your birthday which Wednesday you will receive your money. The first of every month was traditionally the day on which recipients of Supplemental Security Income received their payments. We’ll give you a rundown of it.
Your payment will be sent out on the second Wednesday of the month if your birthday comes between the 1st and the 10th of the month.
If your birthday falls between the 11th and 20th of the month, your payment will be sent out on the third Wednesday of each month. If your birthday falls outside of that range, it will be sent out on the following Wednesday.
Your payment will be paid out on the fourth Wednesday of the month if your birthday comes between the 21st and the 31st of the month.

What happens if I am eligible for both Social Security and SSI benefits?
If you started receiving Social Security payments before May 1997, or if you are receiving both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), your payment schedule will be altered.
Instead, your payment from Social Security will be mailed to you on the third of every month, and your payment from SSI will be mailed to you on the first of every month.
However, if either the first or the third of the month comes on a weekend, those payment dates will be moved.
For example, because Sunday, April 3rd, fell on this year’s calendar, you would have gotten your Social Security payment two days early, on April 1st, instead.
