Orphan Black, a science fiction television series, came to an end in 2017, although the narrative of the planet depicted in the show is not yet finished.
Actress Keeley Hawes, who has been nominated for a BAFTA three times, has reportedly agreed to star in the upcoming season of Orphan Black: Echoes on AMC.
In the second instalment of the series, which is scheduled to premiere in 2023, Hawes will co-star with Krysten Ritter.
The first season of the original series Orphan Black aired in 2013 and lasted for a total of five seasons. It told the story of a young lady who finds herself at the centre of a conspiracy after learning that she is one of the numerous clones that are dispersed across the world.
It is presently unknown what the storyline of Orphan Black: Echoes will entail, however it is speculated that it will take place in the not-too-distant future and will follow a group of women whose lives will become interwoven as the secret behind their identities begins to be revealed.
The role that Hawes will play in the drama will be that of a researcher who “finds herself at war with her own moral code when circumstances compel her to make an unthinkable option.”
Hawes has received three BAFTA nominations throughout his career. She is probably best known for her role on the popular television show Bodyguard, but she also starred in the highly praised British series Line of Duty.
Her work as Bodyguard brought her the greatest attention. Other works that she has contributed to include the television programs Mrs Wilson, Ashes to Ashes, It’s A Sin, and The Midwich Cuckoos, as well as the films Rebecca and Misbehaviour. She will soon be seen in the upcoming drama Stonehouse, which co-stars her husband, Matthew Macfadyen, who appeared in Succession.

Anna Fishko is the brains behind Orphan Black: Echoes, and she is also going to be the showrunner, head writer, and executive producer for the new series.
In the past, Fishko has worked as a writer and producer on television shows such as Pieces of Her on Netflix, Tyrant on FX, and Fear the Walking Dead on AMC.
In addition, John Fawcett, who was one of the co-creators of the first series, will be involved in the production of this new series both as an executive producer and as a director.
In the past, he has directed a total of seventeen episodes for the series Orphan Black, in addition to episodes for other programs such as The Man in the High Castle and Rookie Blue.
In addition to Kerry Appleyard and David Fortier, Ivan Schneeberg, Katie O’Connell Marsh, and Nick Mantell are also executive producers for the Orphan Black: Echoes television show.
