LeBron James, the superstar of the Los Angeles Lakers, has stated that he would miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
“I’m officially out for the season,” LeBron James said, adding a facepalm emoji. “I’ll see you in the fall.”
There have been a lot of reactions to this, as with most everything LeBron says. LeBron’s post has already received over 130,000 likes, 27,000 retweets, and 8,000 replies.
Fans quickly realised it was an April Fool’s joke from the Lakers’ president. Some were pleased by the joke and believe they won’t be able to get rid of him so quickly, while others are annoyed that he’s joking about it given the Lakers’ current predicament.
You’re about to be unless the Lakers somehow go on a big run against better teams. Not really worth joking about. Kobe never would have. https://t.co/a4abdkpI7X

Fans of the Los Angeles Lakers have reason to be irritated with LeBron James right now. If the season ended today, they would be 31-45 and on a four-game losing streak, missing the playoffs.
The Lakers have gone from being NBA title favourites in the preseason to being fortunate to make it to the play-in round.
LeBron may make jokes about the issue all he wants, but this isn’t a joke for some folks. He’ll be watching the playoffs from home unless he leads the Lakers to a great finish in the final few games.
His April Fool’s joke will then become a reality.
Was LeBron James’ April Fool’s tweet in bad taste?
