2 Guys Arrested in Dc for Impersonating Federal Police; 4 Secret Service Agents Suspended!

On Wednesday, the FBI detained two men in Washington, DC, for allegedly impersonating Department of Homeland Security officials for over two years, providing housing and proposing to buy a weapon for a Secret Service agent assigned to First Lady Jill Biden.

Arian Taherzadeh and Haider Ali allegedly supplied “rent-free apartments” worth over $40,000 yearly to DHS employees and US Secret Service personnel while posing as federal agents, according to the affidavit.

Agents are on administrative leave pending investigations. The document lists large presents given to federal agents by the two defendants.

The paper claims Taherzadeh gave a Secret Service member assigned to the White House compound a “rent-free penthouse apartment” for a year for around $40,200.
The document claims Taherzadeh offered to buy a $2,000 assault rifle for a Secret Service agent protecting the first lady.

It wasn’t immediately apparent if the first lady’s detail or the White House compound agent was among the four put on leave.

The Secret Service maintains close coordination with the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security.” DHS was contacted for comment.

Taherzadeh and Ali allegedly got weapons to impersonate federal agents. Assault rifle case, generator, and law enforcement gear were among the gifts Taherzadeh allegedly offered federal agents, claiming DHS had paid for them.

DHS’s Homeland Security Investigations branch allegedly recruited Taherzadeh to research a federal contractor for the Defense and Intelligence Communities.

The individuals described themselves as investigators with the US Special Police investigating the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol as well as gang activity, according to the records.

During the investigation, the inspector discovered the two individuals had provided gifts to USSS members. According to the affidavit, the inspector informed the DHS Office of Inspector General, which notified the FBI.
