Severance is without a doubt one of the top shows that will air in 2022. It was able to successfully build up enough mystery and intrigue over the course of its first season’s nine episodes, which enabled it to earn its dramatic cliffhanger and leave us wanting more. Its status as a surprise smash hit was cemented when it was nominated for a number of Emmys, all of which were richly deserved; hopefully, more nominations are on the way.
The science fiction drama formerly known as the best show no one was talking about was picked up for a second season by Apple TV+ before the first season had even finished showing all of its episodes. At this time, very little information regarding Season 2 has been revealed; so, until we get any news, we will be here arguing every conceivable fan theory and updating this site as we acquire more data about the upcoming season.
who will be seen in severance season 2?
Given that the fates of virtually all of the characters were left up in the air when the first season came to a close, it is probably safe to assume that all of the major players will return for the second season. What Will We See in Severance Season 2?
Severance follows Mark, a member of the Macro data Refinement team of Lumon Industries. After his wife Gemma passes away, he chooses to participate in the aforementioned severance program, which causes his view of reality to become split into two: his “innie” only remembers a working life with his coworkers, while his “outie” has no recollection of anything related to work.
He works with Dylan, Irving, and “Helly R,” a new employee who has a difficult time adjusting and has even attempted suicide – only for her “outie” to turn down her resignation request, thereby imprisoning her.
We last saw Dylan being tackled to the ground by Milchick after allowing the “innies” to escape their own bodies for a brief period of time. Season 1 ended with one of the most dramatic cliffhangers of the past ten years: Irving arrived at Burt’s door after their romantic connection in Lumon only to discover he’s already in a relationship.
According to Erickson, this foray into the outside world will have repercussions in Season 2. According to him, the world will undoubtedly grow to some extent.
We’ll get to see more of the building and the outside world when we’re inside Lumon.
Erickson stated, “We’re going to keep really focusing on the relationships between these characters, and we’re developing the world, in another interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“The first season was an ensemble piece at work, but Mark was obviously far more the center of attention. The only context Mark has for Helly, Irving, and Dylan is work, thus we wanted the audience to experience Mark’s life from his point of view. Mark is unaware of who Helly, Irving, and Dylan are on the outside.
Therefore, we intended to portray the story in that way for Season 1, but in Season 2, we’ll reveal all of these characters from the outside. Like Mark, every one of them underwent this treatment for a different reason and is currently going through some sort of healing phase.
Before the biggest twist of them all—severed gemma’s body—Mark discovered that Gemma wasn’t just alive, but also employed at Lumon as a wellness advisor to Ms. Casey. Just as the credits played for the conclusion, he said, “She’s alive.” In an interview with Variety, Erickson dropped the following hint: “There’s a question of sort of who was targeted first: Was Mark targeted because of his relationship with Gemma, or was it the other way around? And although we won’t see that this season, we will in upcoming ones.
What makes Mark unique is the crucial question. And is it really something unique about him, or was he more drawn to Gemma than anything else? All of those questions have not been answered this season, but we will.
