Director Claims Warner Bros Erased the Movie’s Batgirl Footage From the Server

Because of the merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery, the release of the Batgirl movie was rescheduled to take place on the streaming channel HBO Max instead of the original plan to broadcast it directly.

According to reports, the new CEO, David Zaslav, has his sights set on ensuring that all DC movies have stronger narrative connections to one another and are suitable for wide theatrical release. According to all available evidence, the verdict had absolutely nothing to do with the calibre of the film in question.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the directors of the project, recently gave an interview to Skript in which they discussed openly and honestly their initial reactions and thoughts after receiving the news.

The assertion that they attempted to obtain the footage from their superhero movie, but that it had been wiped from the Warner Bros. server, is perhaps the most stunning aspect of the whole situation.

When news arrived that their movie was going to be scrapped, El Arbi urged Fallah to save some of the films on his phone so that they could use it for another project. However, when he finally gained access to the server, none of the videos had been saved.

“No, we don’t have anything at all. Adil called me and said, ‘Go ahead!’ so I did. Take pictures of everything with your phone!’ When I went to check the server, everything had been deleted. We were [like]… ‘F**ing shit!’ The explanation given by Fallah was that “we did not even keep the sequences with Batman in it.”

The directors of the project, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, recently gave an interview to Skript in which they expressed straightforwardly and honestly their immediate feelings and thoughts after receiving the news.

The claim that they made that they attempted to retrieve the footage from their superhero movie, but that it had been destroyed from the Warner Bros. server, is perhaps the most astonishing component of the whole scenario.

When El Arbi and Fallah found out that their movie was going to be cancelled, El Arbi strongly suggested that Fallah keep some of the footage from the movie on his phone so that they might utilise it in another venture. When he did finally get access to the server, however, he discovered that none of the videos had been saved.

At this point, it is seeming more and more likely that the suspense film will never be completed and released to the public. The directors claimed that even if there was some video somewhere, they “were smack in the thick of editing.” Since there was still a significant amount of work to be done, it could not be said that the movie had been completed.

It’s terrible that we’ll never get to see Michael Keaton, who played Batman, advising Batgirl, and we can’t even begin to imagine how the people working on the project must be feeling right now.
