The social media platform’s CEO launched a poll on Monday, December 19, asking users if they thought he need to step down.

Elon Musk will have more time for other commercial endeavors if he decides to select one of the above candidates to succeed him as the new Twitter CEO. However, he will continue to hold more sway because he controls the majority of the social media platform’s shares.

Over 50% of respondents want Elon to step down, according to a poll. As of this writing, more than 17 million individuals have participated in Elon Musk’s official Twitter poll.

More than 57% of the participants thought the billionaire should step down as CEO of Twitter. However, a negative response was given by almost 42%.

According to Musk, he would follow the poll’s findings. He made it clear, though, that he would only resign if there was someone foolish enough to take his place. He continued by saying that after stepping down as CEO of Twitter, he will oversee just the software and servers division of the social media company.

Multiple platform updates are still being made to Twitter right now. Previously, some journalistic Twitter accounts that had been suspended have been reinstated.
