On Tuesday Morning, the Saints Released Veteran Quarterback Drew Brees

This offseason, the quarterback room for the New Orleans Saints was somewhat crowded. The team released one of its three experienced quarterbacks on Tuesday morning, citing a lack of need.

Blake Bortles, the Saints’ experienced quarterback, has been released. He begged to be dismissed when the team signed Andy Dalton to be Jameis Winston’s backup, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Bortles is looking for a chance to be a legitimate No. 2 quarterback somewhere. Before the 2022 season, he should get a lot of attention.

Meanwhile, the Saints are making progress with Winston and Dalton.

“According to league sources, Blake Bortles requested and will obtain his release from the Saints today, following the signing of quarterback Andy Dalton. Bortles, who is 29 years old and has 73 starts and 103 touchdown pass on his résumé, is searching for a better opportunity to be a No. 2 quarterback elsewhere, according to Schefter.

Bortles has 73 starts under his belt and 103 touchdown passes. He shouldn’t have any trouble finding a new place to live.

Meanwhile, the Saints are continuing to work with Winston and Dalton. They’re in a good quarterback situation. If Winston has a bad game or is injured, Dalton can step in straight away. It’d also most likely be a smooth transfer.

As a result, Dalton is fully dedicated to providing Winston with the greatest backup he can provide.

According to Pro Football Talk, Dalton stated, “This is Jameis’ thing.” “I’m here to assist him in any manner I can.” I’m looking forward to working with him, being in the same room with him, and seeing what I can do to assist him in becoming the best player he can be.”
