New York Car Crash Incident

According to police and family, a 16-year-old boy was driving a group of siblings and cousins home from the mall when he lost control of the Nissan Rogue around 12:30 a.m. on the Hutchinson River Parkway just past the exit for Mamaroneck Road in Westchester County and crashed into a tree, causing the SUV to burst into flames.

The outlet reported that the young motorist may have fallen asleep at the wheel. The driver, three other boys, and a girl between the ages of 8 and 17 from the small Connecticut town of Derby were all killed, according to investigators.

Nicole Cross, claiming to be the mother of at least some of the child victims, stated in a heartbreaking Facebook post on Sunday, “Dear Jesus, I don’t understand why you had to take our babies away from us.”

Cross prayed, “Dear God, grant us your strength.” Please keep my family in your prayers, we have no idea what to do or how to manage this situation. Anthony Billips, who identified himself as the father of at least some of the children, wrote, “This is the most difficult post I’ve ever had to make.”

Billips stated, “Six children were in the car, but only one survived. The pain we are experiencing is beyond description, and we would not wish this on anyone.”

A GoFundMe campaign was started on Sunday in order to seek funds “to help bury our children” and “to provide them a wonderful funeral service.”
