Dak Prescott Fights Back: $100M Lawsuit Alleges Extortion in Wake of Sexual Assault Accusation

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is suing a woman who accused him of sexual assault, alleging her claim is false and part of a $100 million extortion attempt.

According to the lawsuit filed in Collin County, Texas, Prescott is refuting the allegations that he sexually assaulted the woman in the backseat of his SUV in Plano, Texas, in 2017 after his rookie season.

Communication with Mississippi State

The lawsuit contends that the unnamed defendant, along with her attorneys Bethel and Yoel Zehaie, sent a letter detailing the alleged assault to Prescott’s alma mater, Mississippi State, on January 16. Subsequently, the letter was forwarded to Prescott’s legal team.

The letter, as outlined in the lawsuit, demanded $100 million from Prescott in exchange for keeping quiet about the purported sexual assault.

Prescott, through his attorney Levi G. McCathern, has vehemently denied the allegations, characterizing the entire situation as an extortion plot. The lawsuit seeks damages exceeding $1 million from the defendant, and McCathern described the accuser’s actions as criminal.

The lawsuit also provides details from the letter sent by the accuser’s attorneys, which allegedly promised to refrain from public disclosure or pursue criminal charges in exchange for financial compensation.

Prescott is expected to provide a response by February 13, as communicated by the accuser’s legal representatives. Beyond the legal proceedings and a statement issued by his attorney, Dak Prescott, who is currently 30 years old, has refrained from publicly addressing the matter.

The Dallas Cowboys have refrained from commenting on the ongoing legal issue, and as of now, there has been no response from the accuser’s attorneys.

Prescott, approaching his ninth season with the Cowboys, has been a central figure for the franchise since being drafted in 2016 and is entering the final year of a four-year, $160 million contract extension signed in 2021.

The recent legal developments introduce an additional layer of intricacy to the prominent position Dak Prescott holds as the symbolic figurehead of the Dallas Cowboys, further complicating his already significant role within the team.
